This is excellent advice. Since many families only get together for the holidays, it’s a great idea to use the occasion to evaluate the mental and physical condition of one’s parents.

Good I'm glad it's not just me. My mother-in-law does this on a constant basis and I always feel guilty because there are some times when we just can't come over and help. I thought it was just my womanly guiltiness getting in the way again. Us women know how we place most of life's responsibilities on our own shoulders. Then we feel guilty about not getting everything done. Well, not anymore will guilt conquer a woman. "Escaping Toxic Guilt" by Susan Carrell is the best book out there so far for treating guilty women, and everyone else for that matter. It really helps.
